Looking For A Book Recommendation?

Isn't everyone looking for a good book recommendation at the moment? Now is definitely the time to stay home, put your feet up, grab a cuppa and enjoy a good read. So what am I reading right now? Well I do LOVE a good reno/ home improvement book (obviously)! One of my favorite books that I keep going back to the bookshelf for is Three Birds Renovation
So who are the Three Birds? Well they're Three busy mummas who ditched their corporate careers to renovate Australian houses. They now have a massive reno design school where they share all their design and reno techniques. If you're looking for a book to lust over beautiful homes and need some styling/reno-ing advise for your own space, these 'birds' are the go to experts. One of my favorite take away's from the Birds, is the great and simple budget friendly ideas for updating your home, that look a like million bucks! They also tell you where to shop to save $$ on your renovation.
Next up I am calling all healthy cooks?? Have you tried fermented fruits and veggies before? Fermenting is such a great way to help boost your gut health, I know we hear about gut health on the daily, however making fermented staples in your pantry is super easy and probably a great option to include in your diet at the moment (dare I mention COVID-19). So why not give it a go to boost your immunity!
Here are my two all time favorite healthy yet delicious cookbooks.
These two talented women have joined forces to create a book that is filled with incredible recipes, tips and tricks, all backed up by important research which helps to create (dare I say it again) healthy guts.
Expect to see
Ketogenic Treats like, MANGO CHEESECAKE, Cultured Bounty Bars and Gut Friendly Brownies, along side of some tantalising savory meals - soups, stews, curries, you know all those warming comfort foods. There is also a big part of this book dedicated to fermenting just about anything! A great place to start with your ferment experiments!
My other well used cook book is Forage, Ferment, Feast! Written by Dr Sarah Lantz, famous for making the tastiest kombucha in the land (Buchi) and Wei'er Higgs from Gutsy Ferments. They share all their tried and tested recipes and also go in depth about sourdough bread making at home. Some real satisfying homestyle recipes in this one.
And now onto my permanent coffee table book. "Shelter" - How Australians Live, by Kara Rosenlund is a particular favorite as a quick "coffee break" read between toilet training and loads of endless washing. Kara is an Australian photographer who takes some of the most jaw dropping images. She travels the world but has a very strong love for this beautiful country of ours. The book describes wonderful Australian stories and tours of some of the most interesting abodes. A must for any Aussie aspiring photographer or lover of our Australian lifestyle.
